Warwick Law Launches New Mentor Scheme

Warwick Law School is launching a new mentor scheme for its students.

The Peer Assisted Study Support Scheme (PASS) consists of a group of ten students who have achieved excellent results during their studies and are in the top of their class. They will be acting as mentors for their fellow students offering advice on all things study-related.

We will be piloting this scheme in the Law Student Hub every Tuesday from 13:00-14:00 until the end of term. Helen Riley (Law Librarian), Jane Bryan (Director of Student Experience) and Joshua Lam and Mae Spahr (Westlaw and LexisNexis reps) will also be on hand should you have any questions.

Meet some of our mentors below and hear what they wish they had known in their first year.

Lydia

Lydia Owen-Morrell - LLB – 2nd year

“Always remember that everyone is in the same position as you. You are not alone. If you find something difficult to understand, then it is likely that the majority of those around you do too. Don't stress too much, focus on enjoying your degree and your time at University.”

Anastasia

Anastasia Gregory - Law & Sociology - 4th year

"Working hard is often best practised by working smarter. This means understanding where your time and effort is best placed; think about how your module will be assessed and adapt your reading strategy and note-taking accordingly."

Anouk

Anouk Geene - Law with French Law - 2nd year

“Study smart! Make good use of past papers and exam feedback and know what to cite/mention to check all the marking criteria boxes.”

Come along to get your questions answered. If you find this helpful, we will look to implement this scheme permanently.
