Dr Gabrielle Lynch (University of Warwick) and Professor Louise Chappell (University of New South Wales) will be panelists. The round table discussion will focus in particular on the ICC. Louise will discuss sexual violence and examine how the principle of complementarity might be better utlised to address the deficiencies of the ICC system while Gabrielle will look at the post-election violence in several African nations to demonstrates the seriousness with which the international community treats such outbreaks of violence.

 

The roundtable will be stimulating and discuss how the ICC tackles the oft neglected area of sexual violence in the context of armed conflict and the issues surrounding post-election violence.
