Find out what's happening
There are lots of exciting events happening within the Law School. Plus there are many other University and external events which may be of interest. We have therefore collated them all into one central calendar to help you choose which you would like to attend.
Research Seminar - Professor Riccardo Del Punta, University of Florence
Title: “Is the capability theory an adequate normative theory for labour law?”
Abstract: The topic addressed by the presentation is if the Capability Approach/Theory, fundamentally taken as a normative political theory, can provide a possible normative basis (although not the only one) of labour law. Some general arguments will firstly be expounded with regard to the utility or not, for labour law, of a comparison to political philosophy. The main arguments about labour law and the capability approach will then be illustrated, through examples taken from the recent evolution of positive labour law.
