Find out what's happening
There are lots of exciting events happening within the Law School. Plus there are many other University and external events which may be of interest. We have therefore collated them all into one central calendar to help you choose which you would like to attend.
Law School Public Lecture - Professor Neil Walker, Regius Professor of Public Law and the Law of Nature and Nations, University of Edinburgh
‘Populism and Constitutional Tension’
Abstract: ‘Contemporary populist leaders or candidates from Trump to Orban, and from Erdogan to Le Pen, are seen by many as a threat to established standards and principles of constitutional government. But we cannot understand the true character of this threat, or begin to know how to respond to it, unless we appreciate that populism, far from being entirely alien to the modern constitutional tradition, can instead be seen as a 'normal' expression of and response to certain tensions inherent in that tradition’
