Julia Kerr Prize - 2015/2016 Edition
The Julia Kerr Prize was generously founded in memory of Julia Kerr, a Warwick Law School alumna, class of 1975.
The prize of £500 will be awarded to the student who has best demonstrated the use of skills and knowledge gained at Warwick Law School to make an important contribution to human rights in the community (locally, nationally and internationally) as a participant of activities arranged through Warwick University.
Applications must include the following:
1. A 2,000 word reflective essay (non-academic) in which applicants consider their contribution to the promotion of human rights in the wider community. We are also happy to receive more creative pieces and submissions that include photography or video clips.
2. A short CV (1 page) including details of the applicant’s academic and extracurricular activities relevant to the prize, full name and current email address.
Applications and queries should be sent to Alice at a.panepinto@warwick.ac.uk by Monday 21st December (close of business).
The winning essay will be considered for publication in Lacuna magazine (www.lacuna.org.uk) published by the Centre for Human Rights in Practice at Warwick Law School.
The prizes will be awarded at the Annual Julia Kerr Lecture to be arranged in early 2016 (date tbc).
