Phoebe Bower wins the Julia Kerr Prize

JKP2At a ceremony held at Warwick University Phoebe Bower was presented with the Julia Kerr Prize for Human Rights. Russ Stetler made the announcement before delivering the annual Julia Kerr Lecture. The award and the lecture is funded by John Kerr in memory of his late wife.

 

Phoebe’s award was in recognition of her long commitment to the Death Penalty Project, which she now coordinates for the Centre. Her contribution was called

a fantastic example of dedication, imagination and sheer hard work’ by Andrew Williams, the Centre’s co-Director.

Russ2Russ Stetler presented the award certificate with a prize of £500. His lecture was aptly concerned with the state of the death penalty in the US today.
