Andrew Williams' A Very British Killing longlisted for Orwell Prize

The longlist for the 2013 Orwell Prize for books was unveiled earlier this week and amongst the 12 titles chosen is Andrew Williams' A Very British Killing: The Death of Baha Mousa.

The Orwell Prize is Britain's most prestigious prize for political writing. Every year, prizes are awarded for the work, which comes closest to George Orwell's ambition "to make political writing into an art." A Very British Killing proudly abides by this ambition, and as Arifa Akbar - one the Prize judges - notes is a

brilliantly forensic study of Baha Mousa's dealth ... which draws chilling new details and assessments that reflect on endemic abusive practices.
