Contract, Business and Commercial Law

Cluster Overview

Warwick Law School has a growing group of scholars whose research relates to commercial law, broadly defined. Many scholars are working on aspects of digitalisation and its impact on areas of commercial law, whether contract law, data protection, competition law or financial regulation. Other areas of expertise include economic regulation, taxation of corporate finance, and consumer law. Scholars combine doctrinal research with a range of contextual methodologies, including social-legal studies, economics, or legal theory. Much of our research has an international, comparative or European dimension. Our research also drives innovation in how we teach relevant modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, ensuring that our contemporary research also shapes our approach to what we teach. A thriving postgraduate community, including many research students researching a broad range of commercial law topics, completes our commercial law community here at Warwick.
