Writing Wrongs: In Schools Programme

Our Writing Wrongs programme for Key Stage 4 aims to develop student's writing and research skills and empower them to produce their own pieces of writing on a social justice issue of their choosing.

Spaces still available for Coventry Schools to take part in 2019/20 (Priority is given to under performing schools with high numbers of students on FSM)

What does the programme involve?

  • Sessions in your school with inspirational writers and writing exercise workshops
  • Access to resources to develop writing skills, for use in classes over subsequent weeks.
  • Resources are specifically designed to complement the GCSE English Language curriculum, and are available in a wide variety of writing styles for a range of abilities.
  • All students are encouraged to enter their work into the Warwick Writing Wrongs Schools Competition
  • A celebration event on campus for the writing students have produced. All entrants receive feedback on their work and there are a range of prizes. The winning entry is published in our Lacuna Magazine

What do students write about?

Anything they are interested in and feel passionately about! Last year themes included mental health, knife crime, housing and immigration.
