Visiting Students

Optional Modules

Visiting students attending Warwick must take four modules per term, this equates to 120 CATS (60 ECTS) for the full year or 60 CATS (30 ECTS) for half year.

You will have to choose an even split of credits/modules for each term, bearing in mind that 30 CATS (15 ECTS) modules run over two terms and 15 CATS (7.5 ECTS) modules run over only one term.

Module registration information

The Law School uses a Module Application system to avoid running a ‘first-come, first-served’ system, so you can take your time to consider which modules are right for you, provided your choices are in before the deadline. The first deadline for module pre-registration for external students is Friday 29 May at 3pm, BST.

If your place at Warwick is confirmed after 29 May, please fill in the form as soon as possible, but be aware that some modules may have already run out of places.

Please indicate on the module application form for visiting students your preferred six choices for each term you are at Warwick.

NB 30 CATS modules run across the full year, so should be included in your totals for terms 1 and 2.

If there is no objection from your home university, you should be able to choose up to 30 CATS (15 ECTS) of external modules offered by other departments at Warwick. (If you have any doubt about this matter, please check the requirements from your home university). If you are interested in an external module, you must check with the responsible department if there is a place available for the desired module; it may take some time before you receive a confirmation.

Please think carefully when choosing your modules as changes will not be permitted on your arrival without the approval of the Director of International Programmes. Approval will only be given for genuine reasons.
