Dramatised Dissertation
What is a dramatised dissertation?
This stream provides students with the opportunity to follow up a particular research interest on a topic chosen by them and to explore those interests through creative writing. Those undertaking this stream will submit their work in the form of a dramatic script such as a play or film script. Students will only have the option of doing this as a 5,000-word piece taken in Term 2 (15 CAT).

What can you write about?
Dramatised dissertation allows you to follow up a particular research interest in law and to explore it through creative writing. While you can explore any area of law in your dramatised project, the output has to be a dramatic script such as a play or film script.
What kind of support will you receive?
Teaching support is delivered in streams and through supervision. In streams, you will have workshop style lectures that provide training and guidance on getting started, research methods, ethics, and writing.
All students will also be supported by a supervisor. Supervision will mainly consist of regular group meetings that will focus on proposals, literature, writing, and reviewing past work. In addition, there will be termly individual supervision to discuss draft written work.
