I am Professor of Economics at the IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca Link opens in a new windowand Honorary Professor in the Department of Politics and International Studies (PAIS) at the University of Warwick.

Before joining IMT Lucca, I served as a Professor of Political Science at the University of Warwick.

My research has been funded by the AXA Research Fund, the British Academy, the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), the Folke Bernadotte Academy, the Swedish Research Council, UNU-WIDER and the World Bank.

My research interests include civil-military relations, defense economics, international migration, military interventions, political economy, and terrorism
