Profile
I am a PhD candidate in Politics and International Studies supervised by Professors Vicki Squire and Nicola Pratt. My research is fully funded by the Chancellor's International Scholarship (2024 - 28).
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Social Development and Policy (2017 - 21) with a focus on postcolonial and feminist IR from Habib University, Karachi, and an MA (with Distinction) in Political Thought (2021 - 22) from the University of Exeter.
I research transnational politics of recognition with respect to the Kurdish diaspora. My areas of interest include migration, border and security studies, and international law. My research inclines to interdisciplinarity and within the above, I am interested in theoretical approaches and contributions to the closely related but arguably polar concepts of sovereignty and subjectivity. My theoretical approach converses with the work of French philosopher Michel Foucault lately focussing on Foucaultian analytics of migration in International Relations.
