Profile
I am a PhD candidate in Politics and International Studies supervised by Professors Vicki Squire and Nicola Pratt. My research is fully funded by the Chancellor's International Scholarship (2024 - 28).
I hold an MA with Distinction in Political Thought (2021 - 22) from the University of Exeter, and BSc (Hons) with Distinction in Social Development and Policy (2017 - 21) with a focus on postcolonial and feminist IR from Habib University, Karachi.
Research
My doctoral research is on the political activism of stateless diaspora groups with a particular empirical focus on alternative forms of activism in the Kurdish diaspora.
My broader interests include: borders and territoriality; nationalisms; colonialism and postcolonial theory; continental philosophy, particularly that of Michel Foucault; Hegelian 'recognition,' especially uses in International Relations (IR).
Teaching
For the 2025/26 academic year, I am a seminar tutor on PO131 World Politics.
