Lucy’s PhD focuses on the role of women’s activism and care in the context of the aids crisis in the UK and US. It uses a feminist political economy perspective and social reproduction framework to analyse the significance of these forms of work. Her PhD is funded by the ESRC.
She has recently completed MA’s at the university of Sheffield funded by a masters scholarship and the university of Warwick funded by the ESRC. She completed an undergraduate degree at Warwick in Sociology and was funded through the undergraduate research support scheme to undertake research on queer women and rural space.
She has presented at several conferences including IPPE’s international conference in Istanbul on her masters research into women’s role in the miners strike.
Her first publication was published by SAGE Publications and as part of their diversifying and decolonising research series. Her PhD is being supervised by Dr Juanita Elias and Dr Cath Lambert.
