Profile
I am a PhD candidate within the Department of Politics and International Studies.
I hold an MA in International Political Economy (University of Warwick), an MA in Politics and Public Administration (University of Konstanz), and a BA in International Economics and Development (University of Bayreuth).
My PhD is supervised by Matthew Watson and Chris Clarke.
Research
My PhD thesis focuses on the politics of private equity markets. Private equity firms such as Blackstone invest in a wide range of companies across the economy. My thesis interrogates the politics of private equity markets, asking how private equity firms could obtain ownership of a large amount of companies and obtain the power that comes along with it as they can influence these companies' decisions and our everyday lives.
My wider research interests include:
- The Political Economy of Global Finance
- Everyday Political Economy
- Conceptions of (financial) markets
- The intersection and connections between 'finance' and the 'real economy'
Teaching
For the 2025/26 academic year I am a seminar tutor on the module PO107 Introduction to Politics. I have also previously taught on this module in the academic year 2024/25.
