Welcome to the Department of Philosophy!
On behalf of all the staff and students in the Philosophy Department, it is my pleasure to welcome you. You are joining an inclusive community which supports diverse philosophical traditions and collaborates across disciplines. We are passionate about our philosophical interests and we look forward to hearing what interests you.
I am the Director of Graduate Studies for the Department and I will be here to help support and advise you on any matter related to your postgraduate studies. I am also responsible for planning our departmental activities for your Welcome Week. Updates will be added to this page, so make sure to check back as the new academic year approaches.
We do not require that you read or study anything before you arrive. However, if you are keen to get started and want some guidance for where to start, please see our list of recommended reading.
