The leave awarded under the 'Impact Leave' scheme will bring with it a moderate financial contribution towards the backfill of teaching duties. Any additional funding required by individuals to support the realisation of impact plans would need to be sought in addition. Realistically, it will now be difficult for the Department to arrange full teaching buy-out at this stage for the 2018/19 academic year. However, it is possible to discuss this further and to make advance plans for the 19/20 academic year, where there will be slightly more flexibility.
