The RDF Strategic Awards is an annual competition to provide pump-priming support for the development of new research initiatives which are creative and innovative and can be clearly demonstrated to be strategic. Projects should ideally be of an inter- or multi-disciplinary nature and submissions must show clearly that they will lead directly to future bids for external funding. Submissions which relate specifically to Department/Faculty/University strategies are particularly encouraged. Applications must be made by application form only, and should be submitted by the Head of Department, accompanied by a Declaration of Support. Applications that do not include a statement will not be supported by the RDF. Heads of Department will be asked to rank applications for Strategic Awards from their Department in order of priority.
