Andrew Cooper

We are deeply saddened to share the news that Dr Andrew Cooper, Associate Professor in Philosophy, has passed away. A cherished colleague, teacher, and friend, Andrew was known for his intellectual brilliance, warmth, and generosity.

Since joining the department in 2018, he became a central figure in our community, inspiring students and colleagues alike with his passion for philosophy, his commitment to education, and his deep humanity.

Colleagues and friends have been invited to share memories, stories and images of Andrew and messages of condolence to one another and his family. Entries have been collated and published here, they are currently being printed for Andrew's family.

We are no longer accepting submissions, but you can read submissions here.

Students can access support via the Wellbeing portal or on 024 76 575570, ext. 75570, and staff can access support via the Staff Wellbeing Hub and the Employee Assistance Programme. The Chaplaincy are also able to provide bereavement support to those of any faith or none.
