Quassim Cassam, 'The Possibility of Knowledge'

Abstract

This paper is about 'how-possible' questions in epistemology, that is, questions which take a certain kind of knowledge as given and ask how knowledge of that kind is possible. I look at some different ways of motivating such questions and at some different ways of answering them. I focus on what I call the Means Response to one particular how-possible question, and discuss the merits and limitations of this response.
