Overview

The WIP is an informal, risk-free, and supportive space where postgraduates can present their work (in progress) and get feedback from other graduates. It is organised by postgraduates and for postgraduates.

  • When: Thursdays, 17:00 to 18:15
  • Where: Room S1.50 (Social Sciences Building, First Floor)
  • What: Talk (30m) > Q&A (30m) > The Dirty Duck

Attendance optional but highly recommended. All PGs are encouraged to attend and present (MA, MPhil, PhD, Visitors).

Useful Info

Presentations should need not be watertight or polished pieces at all. You are encouraged to present work at all stages of the writing process.

  • Presentation: c. 30 minutes
  • Q&A / Open Discussion: c. 30 minutes
  • Material: Essay drafts, thesis sections, a substantial set of notes, etc.
  • Style: Presenter's choice -- slides, handouts, both, or neither.
  • Prerequisites: None. No prior reading or background knowledge expected. All are encouraged to attend and present (including visiting postgraduates).

🠞 Late Arrivals: Presentations start at 17:05 promptly. You're still very welcome to join after this time, but please be careful to minimise disruption.
