Project overview

The aim of this qualitative research study is to address the experiences of former female combatants involved in the anti-apartheid liberation movements such as: the African National Congress (ANC) uMkhonto Wesizwe (MK) and the other various paramilitary groupings. The approach will be informed by feminist participatory research methods. The study through semi-structure interviews will capture the experiences of political protest, the prison experience and how they as women negotiate their post-war roles.
