Profile
I am a second-year PhD Student at the Department of Sociology. My research explores the continuum of violence in the lives of women in Assam situated within the complex socio-political history of the state, located in the northeast region of India, which has seen mass mobilisation and violence rooted in language, identity and belonging. My supervisory committee consists of Professor Ravi Thiara and Professor Khursheed Wadia. The research is being funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (2023).
Before joining the PhD program, I worked as a Qualitative Researcher at Oxfam India (2019-2023), focusing on social policy, inequality, and discrimination. My work involved co-writing the flagship inequality research reports, conducting desk and primary research and providing research support across various in-house teams.
I have an MA in Social Science Research Methods from the University of Warwick, and an MA in Gender Studies from Dr B.R. Ambedkar University, Delhi.
