Gillmore Centre for Financial Technology launches fintech podcast

Warwick Business School’s Gillmore Centre for Financial Technology has launched a new fintech podcast tackling the big issues affecting the sector.

Hosted by financial journalist Natasha de Terran, author of The Pay Off: How Changing the Way We Pay Changes Everything, the Core Insights: Fintech podcast will see the likes of the Bank of England’s Jeremy Leake, crypto influencer Erica Stanford and the CEOs of Fnality International and Rho Impact join a host of professors from the Gillmore Centre for Financial Technology.

They will discuss the hot topics and latest research in cryptocurrencies, CBDCs, DeFi, DEX, and blockchain, as the academic and industry worlds come together over seven episodes. The first two episodes on ‘How will digital currencies impact our world?’ and ‘Will cryptocurrencies survive the coming regulations?’ are ready to listen to.

Available on all the major podcast platforms, Core Insights: Fintech will investigate topics ranging from the evolving regulation of cryptocurrencies, and how CBDCs will impact our daily lives, to the use of AI in measuring ESG and blockchain’s potential disruption of banking.

The seven episodes of the Core Insights: Fintech podcast series are:

Ram Gopal, Director of the Gillmore Centre for Financial Technology, said: “The Gillmore Centre is continually talking to fintech bosses and policymakers, and we wanted to bring the research we do to life for a wider audience, so a podcast seemed to be the perfect vehicle.

“Our research is often a collaborative affair with industry as we look to exchange knowledge and build innovations.

“We are building a network around the Gillmore Centre of academics, business leaders, policymakers and students with a keen interest in pushing fintech so it is more widely adopted.

“We want to be the hub for the fintech industry in the West Midlands and beyond and this podcast series offers a gripping insight into the issues, challenges and disruptive technology we are researching at the Gillmore Centre.”

The Gillmore Centre for Financial Technology was established by Warwick Business School using a £3 million donation from Clive Gillmore, founder and Group CEO of Mondrian Investment Partners. It aims to become a global centre in excellence for fintech research.

Warwick Business School and the Gillmore Centre for Financial Technology have established partnerships with the Bank of England, Barclays, and a host of fintech start-ups to empower consumers, develop financial literacy, and drive the growth of the fintech industry in the West Midlands.

Professor Gopal added: “The Core Insights: Fintech series will combine the latest research with insight from leading industry figures, giving listeners access to the best knowledge, tools and experts. Learn and be informed from the best researchers, and peers from industry and policy.”
