Information about how to Apply to our MRes/PhD

Please use the following link for the online application. To complete your application you need the following supporting documents:

  • Personal Statement and/or CV.
  • 2 academic references.
  • Undergraduate degree transcripts.
  • Masters degree transcripts (when completed).
  • English Language Certificate (when required).
  • GRE or GMAT.

An application will only be considered complete if all supporting documents are provided. We encourage early applications. Applications are closed now for 2021/2022. Further information for 2022/2023 will be available later in the year.

GRE or GMAT score

The majority of successful applicants will have a high quantitative score in either of the tests. You can find more information about the GRE test on the Official ETS webpage for test takers. You can find more information about the GMAT test on the Official GMAC webpage.

You should upload your GRE report (if available) as part of your University application.

Referees

We will require two academic referees.

Research proposal

A research proposal is not necessary at the stage of application; all successful applicants enrol in the MRes degree first, but you should upload a statement of purpose.

Original documents

Only the selected candidates will be asked to provide originals of their documents (transcripts, certificates etc) and they will be verified by Warwick postgraduate admissions directly. You do not need to send these until requested by the University's Admissions Team.

English language proficiency

Please refer to the University website for further information regarding English language proficiency for non-native speakers.

Duration: 2+4 years.

Entry Requirements: Bachelor’s degree: 1st class (recommended) in Economics or Finance.

Master’s degree: Distinction (recommended) in Economics or Finance. Accounting or Financial Mathematics may be considered with a significant finance component

The GRE or GMAT is a formal requirement for admission. No predefined threshold established, score merely to support application

Course Fees: All fees are fully funded by Warwick Business School. Students will also receive an annual stipend of approximately £15,500 pa (subject to RCUK rates and inflation) for the life of their study, subject to satisfactory progress.

When to Apply: We strongly encourage early applications. The final deadline for any consideration is 28 of February 2021.
