Strengthening Global Ties: Warwick Joins Fudan’s 120th Anniversary Celebrations

On 27th May 2025 Fudan University celebrated 120 years since it’s foundation. Professor Sai Gu, deputy pro-vice-chancellor (East and Southeast Asia) attended a two day conference to mark the anniversary which included research seminars and roundtables.

Launch of annual lecture series on Academic Freedom

The Guild has launched an annual lecture series on academic freedom, marking International Academic Freedom Day in Brussels. The launch event of the series took place on 20 May 2025 and was co-organised with Université PSLLink opens in a new window and Institut CurieLink opens in a new window. The event brought together policymakers, university networks, and researchers to discuss the importance of scientific independence and international collaboration.

Costs

One-week courses:

  • Students taking one course pay €400, if you take more than one course, each course costs €350.
  • You will also need to cover the cost of accommodation 🏠 and travel ✈🚅

Living in Venice

  • Students coming from abroad receive comprehensive pre-departure arrival information and assistance with the visa process, as well as access to University libraries (open late), cafeterias, Wi-Fi, and more. Students can book from a number of accommodation options in the historical city centre of Venice or in Mestre on the mainland. Students can contact our office to receive more information regarding this – anticipated costs around 300 euros for one week.
