Away from Campus over Easter?
If you are going to be away from the campus over the easter break, IT Services has a range of Collaborative Tools which can be used to gain access to files, email and attend meetings.
hotspot-secure Wi-Fi Network
IT Services have introduced an improved Wi-Fi network service called hotspot-secure that is easier to log in to and more secure than the existing hotspot service. The new service can be logged in to easily from most portable devices with Wi-Fi support and no longer requires people to log in with a web browser each time.
Internet Connectivity Disruption Tuesday 14 December 07:00 to 09:00
On Tuesday 14 December, we will be upgrading our internet connection from 1GB to 10GB. This allows for faster connectivity, potential for growth and an improved service for the Residential Network. While this work is carried out there will be intermittent loss of connectivity to the Internet.
Due to the nature of this work, it will not be possible for it to be ‘backed out’. In the unlikely event of a problem with the upgrade, connectivity may be effected throughout the day.
Secure Connections to the Campus Network
IT Services have recently introduced a new VPN Service, which allows you to connect securely to the campus network from off campus. When you connect, you will be part of the campus network, regardless of where you are located. This allows access to network resources and journals which are normally only available when you are onsite.
Internet Disruption 2 & 9 November
JANET, who provide the University’s connection to the Internet, have informed us they will be undertaking maintenance work between 07:00 and 09:00 on Tuesday the 2nd and 9th of November. During this time there will be brief outages, maximum 10-minutes, to our internet connection.
Network Replacement Project
10 Distribution switch pairs need to be updated as part of the final configuration steps of the Network Replacement Project. The 10 Distribution sites are below. For each site there will be a 30 minute data network outage, during which there will be no access to Email, Internet, etc.

Easier Access to Network Drives from Off-Campus
IT Services is changing the way you access your network drives when off-campus. From Monday 19 April, the current access via my.insite will be replaced, with a new enhanced service which provides an easier means to browse both your personal network drive (‘H’ Drive) as well as any shared departmental drives.
The new service can be accessed at https://myfiles.warwick.ac.uk - current links on the Intranet will be updated to reflect this new service.
