ESRC IAA Postdoctoral Impact Fellows for 2025-26

Second year students win first prize in Engineers without Borders Engineering for People Design Challenge

Congratulations to Lara Fernandes, Enzo Lim and Hamed Khan who won first prize in the Engineers without Borders Grand Finals of the Engineering for People Design Challenge. The process this year involved over 10000 students attempting the design challenge. This is then reduced to five teams per university for review by the judges, out of which 36 teams are invited to make pitches at the final event. Our students excelled among all the groups in both the quality of their designs and their pitches, especially with their focus on all the 3 pillars of sustainability.

Alumni Anittah Owomugisha nominated for Professional Rising Star of the Year

Anittah Owomugisha (MSc Engineering Business Management, 2023), a Chevening scholar, is a shining example of how education and opportunity can empower women to lead in engineering. Nominated for the Professional Rising Star of the Year at The Black Scottish Awards 2025, Anittah is an Assistant Engineering Manager at SSEN Transmission. She credits Warwick’s uplifting community and the strong connections she built at WMG for helping launch her career. Today, she’s turning innovative ideas into real-world projects in the UK energy industry.
