Dr. Hendrik Schaefer - NERC Advanced Fellowship Award

Dr. Hendrik Schaefer, formerly a Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Biological Sciences, has been awarded a 5-year NERC Advanced Fellowship worth £480,000.

Warwick Farewell - Professor Noel Carr

Emeritus Professor Noel Carr died on 30th October, aged 71. Noel was appointed to a chair at Warwick in 1984 and retired in 1996. He was a distinguished microbiologist with an international reputation in the study of cyanobacteria who pioneered molecular studies in marine microbiology.

Staff in the Academic Office, Research Support Services, Warwick Ventures, LDC and CSDE hosted a coffee morning today, 30 October,  to help raise crucial funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

University superheroes race for charity

Nearly 3,000 runners passed through campus on Sunday 21 October as they took part in the third Lady Godiva Half Marathon. A number of staff and students ran the 13.1 mile race to raise money for charity including Warwick’s own Batman and Robin aka Tom Reed, a fourth year Engineering Student and Dan Border, a second year Medical student and resident tutor in Rootes.
