How you can help keep our services secure from cyber attacks
We were recently notified of a wave of Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) cyber-attacks on a number of UK universities, which caused significant disruption to their operations. We were not directly targeted - but we need your help to further strengthen our security. Here are three things you can do to help keep our services secure.
Safe at Warwick: Be aware of scams and cyber-crime
At this busy time of year, take care when checking your emails and be aware of the risks of cyber-crime.
Planned VPN Work - 15 December onwards
Find our more about the planned upgrades on our campus VPN over the next two weeks and what that means for you.
Security update: Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
The roll out of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint on all managed Windows computers will begin this week, replacing Kaspersky Anti-Virus. Laptop users working off-campus should continue to connect to the VPN at least once a week to pick up the change. Find out more in this IT Services news item.
Changes to the way we log in online
We're replacing our Web Sign-On with Microsoft’s Multi-Factor Authentication - which will improve online security and user-experience. Over the next couple of months, you'll be prompted to log in to the University system using a new or different authentication method.
