Opportunities for students

Students

As we develop our strategy for Warwick in India, what's in it for students?

Volunteering

A number of volunteering initiatives where Warwick students can offer added value by putting their skills and knowledge into practice. Projects may include teaching English as a second language to students in remote villages or developing teaching techniques with teachers at rural schools. Find out more about the Laksh Foundation.

Study opportunities

Last year, 15 Warwick Medical School students undertook their electives in India. A Warwick in India strategy could see many more opportunities for study in India and for Indian students to study at Warwick, for example on new courses or jointly delivered courses which offer multi-location options.

Research opportunities

Greater integration with top Indian institutions brings more opportunity for collaborative research projects, either working jointly with students studying in India, or travelling to India to undertake research.

WMG invites students annually from Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) for research internships, covering diverse projects which have included materials, manufacturing, engineering business management, health technology and digital healthcare. New research projects, spanning the locations, sharing facilities and research data could emerge.

Work opportunities

As Warwick connects with international businesses large and small, the opportunities for work experience, internships, graduate employment, mentoring and generally making connections and networks improves.

Getting a foot in the door with Indian companies is important for students looking for future employment with them. Mobilising alumni networks and working with business partners can help create new opportunities.

Globally prepared

Warwick considers every student an international student. New opportunities to engage and collaborate with international students and faculty and to undertake culturally enriching experiences helps you to build global skills and interpersonal competencies, critical in a global environment.
