26th February 2019, 18:30, Scarman, University of Warwick
Professor John Loughhead, Chief Scientific Advisor to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy will be joining us to give an evening lecture entitled Energy Perspectives in the UK.
Over the last decade the UK’s electricity system has undergone a dramatic transformation, mainly in response to climate impact concerns. Pressure to continue this change, and to extend it to other even larger parts of the energy system is, if anything, increasing and may be further reinforced during the COP meeting at Katowice in December. What are we likely to see in the UK in response? Is there A Plan, and what might it mean for energy researchers?
Parking available at the carpark at Scarman house. Enter through the barriers outside the main entrance and pick up a token from reception to exit.
