Warwick expertise in economic analysis will explore how financial solutions can contribute to urban and regional sustainability and wellbeing through use of micro- and macro-economic data, the analysis of urban economic activity, and the application of economic criteria to urban development. This theme also recognises that social equity and inclusive growth are key considerations in the economic development of cities and that the links between entrepreneurship, employment and wellbeing should be explored. This theme will explore how new types of economic development will be advanced, focused for example upon urban greening, smart city construction or the Transition Town movement.
