Technician Led Equipment Sharing - Virtual Roadshow and Fund! 24th February, sign-up now!

At 1.30pm on 24th February 2021, we will have the TALENT: Technician Led Equipment Sharing – Virtual Roadshow. Sign up is here.

This event will showcase some of the facilities available across Midlands Innovation institutions. It will also have a webinar by Andrea Mitchell Enabling Technologies: Alternative approaches to enabling access and training, followed by a panel discussion on overcoming hurdles related to equipment sharing. Attendees can also participate in discussions around Training During and Post Covid-19 and Human Participant Testing During and Post Covid-19. The event will provide an opportunity to discuss current issues, share best practice and of course learn more about how technicians are leading the sharing of equipment across MI.

Simultaneously, the Technician Led Equipment Sharing fund will be open for a second round, and the event provides the opportunity to book a short meeting with facilities across MI to see if it could help accelerate your research.

We hope to see you on the 24th and a more detailed agenda is below!

1.30pm Welcome and introduction

1.40pm Webinar - Enabling Technologies: Alternative approaches to enabling access and training, Andrea Mitchell

The University of Birmingham has a range of facilities supporting our research staff, colleagues across the Midlands Innovation network and the wider academic community and commercial users.

Our facilities provide a range of access from bespoke services, through support for experimental planning and analysis, to training and support for user-led access on a wider range of instruments. With some critical research continuing through the recent national restrictions we have looked to alternative ways to interact with our users, old and new that, we would like to share and develop as part of the TALENT initiative.
