The ITSS Technician Council convened for the first time in September to begin its role of providing guidance and recommendation in response to the emerging and evolving strategic direction of the ITSS. Council members were invited to talk openly about our own areas of work and to consider the sector-wide interventions that we feel would provide most benefit and lasting impact to us.

After agreeing the council terms of reference, we were given a first view of the proposed ITSS Strategic Plan by Dr. Kelly Vere MBE and, working in small groups, took time to consider some of the key aspects of the plan and offered thoughts and ideas about how these could be realised. The contributions of the council have been collated and summarised, and will be passed on to the ITSS steering board. The strategic plan is still in draft form so it is exciting to be given the opportunity to provide our input before it goes to the steering board for ratification.

It was a pleasure to meet and start getting to know all the other council members, and of course the day ended with an obligatory team photo (in the rain!)
