• What is IP? - types of IP and their relevance
• Typical IP scenarios in Universities (e.g. industrial collaborations, licensing, spinouts)
• How universities typically manage IP - including IP ownership and sharing in revenues
• Discussion: How does it impact you as technical staff

The TALENT project team is pleased to offer a new training course; Effective Customer Services for Technicians. Please note that you will need to attend both part 1 and 2 for the course and it will be delivered in an interactive way online.

This customer services online workshop to develop the technicians’ knowledge and skills to enable them to develop and deliver consistently high quality customer service in the workplace. By having a better insight into customer services, we can improve our working relationships and how to manage these more effectively using various approaches learnt about customer services. This is an introductory course designed for those with little or no knowledge of the subject, and is also suitable for those who have some knowledge of the subject but who wish to refresh their knowledge and skills. Effective customer services for technicians November-2020

Three new funds have been launched to support the training and development of technicians working in Higher Education institutions in the Midlands. The funds are being provided by TALENT, a programme led by Midlands Innovation which is advancing status and opportunity for technical skills and supporting the roles and careers of technicians across UK higher education and research.

The three funds available are:

• TALENT Technician Led Training Fund
• TALENT Technical Placement Fund
• TALENT Technical Conference and Skills Fund
