Awards Summer 2024

The Warwick Technician Commitment Award for Outstanding Achievement celebrates the fantastic work our technical staff do across research, teaching and within our infrastructure, without which Warwick would not operate. We handed out our Summer 2024 awards at the Technician Commitment Update Event.

Caroline Simiyu from the School of Life Sciences (SLS) was winner of the Technician Commitment Award for Outstanding Achievement. Matt Rosser (WMS), Stephen Allen (WMG) and Huw Edwards (School of Engineering) and Jeanette Selby (SLS) were highly commended. The Technician Commitment Team Award for Outstanding Achievement went to the Computing and Advanced Microscopy Development Unit (CAMDU) in WMS. The awards were presented by Professor Stuart Croft, Vice-Chancellor and President of Warwick.

Caroline was nominated for her excellent work as a Senior Teaching Technician in the teaching laboratories in SLS, going significantly above what would be expected in her role through her conscientious approach to problem solving and resource management, often to tight deadlines to ensure that student experience in relation to practical classes is without disruption.
