Cleaning Provision for Campus Accommodation
If you're living on campus, you'll need to ensure you are keeping your accommodation clean and in a tidy condition. We provide a cleaning service within most of our residences to support you and maintain a safe and clean living environment.
Bedrooms
You'll need to ensure you keep your bedroom clean, tidy and clear of obstructions at all times as we do not clean bedrooms on campus.
Your Residence Team will notify you when they conduct occasional room checks - this is to make sure that bedrooms are being well cleaned and maintained.
Bathrooms
To ensure a hygienic shared living environment we aim to clean shared bathrooms everyday from Monday - Friday (with the exception of Claycroft Residences).
Shared bathrooms in Claycroft Residences are cleaned once per week as they are only shared between two students.
If you have an en suite bathroom, you are responsible for keeping this area clean and tidy as we do not clean en suite bathrooms.
Kitchens
All shared kitchens will be cleaned at least weekly and some of the larger kitchens shared by more students will benefit from additional cleaning.
The specific cleaning schedule is noted within each residence for further information.
Top Tips
When you first move in, we recommend that you speak with your flat mates about how you will manage the daily cleaning and tidying of your communal areas such as kitchens and bathrooms and plan a bin rota. It is helpful to set these expectations and boundaries when you first move in.

There is no cleaning provided in Cryfield Studios, Benefactors Duplex Studios, Benefactors Apartments, Self-Contained Flats or Residential Community Assistant Flats on campus
