Claycroft Developments

There will be building works around Claycroft Residences throughout the academic year from when you arrive in September 2025 through to September 2026. Claycroft has three blocks in total and building works will be carried out block by block throughout the academic year.

As part of the development works, you may notice visible changes around Claycroft such as scaffolding, temporary fencing, and traffic management measures. These are in place to ensure the safety of everyone nearby and are a normal part of any refurbishment project. While the appearance may feel a little unusual at times, we hope you’ll enjoy your refreshed residence once it’s ready and settle in comfortably.

We’ll make every effort to keep disruption to a minimum. While some daytime noise is expected as part of the building improvements, we’re committed to ensuring it doesn’t significantly affect your studies or daily routine.

We’re investing in Claycroft to refresh and improve the residence for current and future students. These upgrades will help ensure the accommodation meets our high standards and continues to offer our students a great living environment.

Yes, students who are allocated to Claycroft will need to move room during the academic year. This will allow us to complete the developments which are planned in stages, block by block.

We understand that moving rooms can be disruptive, and we're committed to making this transition as straight forward as possible and we’ll support you every step of the way.

As part of the planned developments, some students will need to move in early December 2025 and the remaining students will need to move in April 2026.

We'll communicate with students by email to confirm the date they'll need to move. We will of course give advance notice to ensure you have time to prepare. Students who need to move in December 2025 will be notified in October time regarding the room move.

Absolutely - we'll provide clear communication ahead of time regarding when you'll need to move to your new room which will include dates, times and the logistics involved to ensure a smooth room move process.

We will also provide help with transporting your belongings and supply you with packing resources such as cardboard boxes and labels.

Your friendly Residence Team will also be on hand to help with any issues you may be experiencing or questions you might have regarding the room move.
