New cashless, touchless payment method

Pay by Phone

Pay and Display will be replaced by a Pay by Phone service, our new cashless payment method.

Prices will increase and be active from the 1st October 2020.

  • Up to 2 hours - £2.00
  • Up to 3 hours - £3.00
  • Up to 4 hours - £4.00
  • All day - £7.00

We will also be introducing new weekend and evening parking charges from 1st October 2020

  • Evenings - £1.00 from 6pm-6am (if you have bought an all-day ticket this includes the evening and you do not need to buy another ticket).
  • Weekends - £1.00 until 6am the following day (a ticket on Saturday would be valid until 6am on Sunday; a ticket on Sunday would be valid until 6am on Monday).

What is Pay by Phone and how does it work?

From 1st October, all ‘Pay and Display’ machines will be suspended and cash payment will not be possible.

This service is being replaced with a new ‘Pay by Phone’ process. If you need to park on campus and don’t have a permit, you’ll need to use a ‘Pay by Phone’ car park and then pay online.

This service is mobile-friendly so is easily accessible on campus using your phone.

You will see signs in the car park telling you how to pay. You can see details of car parks online in advance to help you plan your journey.


What if I don't have a phone and cannot pay by phone?

Pay By Phone is a new initiative which will help to keep our community safe. This is a priority as we cope with the impact of the global pandemic. Touchless payments provide a far safer approach to parking payments than cash.

However, we want everyone to have fair and appropriate access to our car parks. Anyone holding a valid blue badge will not be expected to pay parking charges, and if anyone else has problems paying by phone, they can contact us in advance so that we can provide support to them.

 

'Flexi-pay' scratch cards

Following the introduction of cashless parking and ‘Pay by Phone’ parking, we will no longer sell the purple FlexiPay parking scratch cards at Senate House, Gibbet Hill Café & University House Café. The purple FlexiPay parking scratch cards will continue to be valid within ‘Pay by Phone’ car parks for this academic year, so that you can still use any excess scratch cards you have; please display your scratch card on your dashboard as before.

When using the scratch cards, the normal restrictions still apply, you can only park in lined bays. You cannot park:

  • In disabled bays without a valid blue badge
  • Car share spaces before 10am unless you’re part of the WarwickShare or 'Take a Mate' car sharing schemes
  • EV charging bays without a valid plug-in vehicle
  • In any other restricted areas

If you park in a time-restricted, short stop space (like the ones at the top of Health Centre Road), you must not park for longer than the time limit specified. Each card is valid for one day only – you must scratch out the date you’re using it on and display it clearly on your dashboard. Scratch cards are transferrable between valid car parks on the same day.

If you experience any difficulties with paying for parking via our new ‘Pay by phone’ service, you can reach us Monday to Thursday, 8am to 4:00pm and Friday between 8am - 3.00pm as follows:
