About Education Operations
Education Operations brings together services that support the delivery, quality and governance of education at Warwick. These services cover the full academic lifecycle—from designing and approving courses and modules, through teaching and assessment, to student records, casework, progression, award and academic governance.
The directorate has been created to connect services that were previously spread across different teams. This makes it easier for staff to navigate processes, reduces duplication, and supports more consistent ways of working across the University.
We are moving towards a more integrated, data-led approach. This means improving how information flows between curriculum management, timetabling, assessment, student records and quality processes—so that data is captured once and used across the lifecycle.
We are also simplifying academic regulations, policies and processes. Clearer rules and guidance will help reduce the need for interpretation and support more consistent practice across departments.
Over time, this will allow more routine processes to be automated, freeing up staff to focus on judgement, advice and improvement. It will also support a more consistent experience for students, with clearer processes and more reliable information at each stage of their academic journey.
