Education Operations

Supporting the delivery, quality and governance of education at Warwick

Education Operations brings together services that support curriculum, teaching, assessment, student records, casework, academic decisions, quality assurance, policy and governance.

What we do

We support the academic lifecycle from course design and approval through to teaching delivery, assessment, student progression, award and academic governance.

We are developing more integrated, data-led services that reduce complexity, improve consistency and make it easier for staff to get things done.

What do you need to do?

Find the service or guidance you need from the areas below.

How our work connects

Design and approve education
Plan teaching and assessment
Manage student registration and progress
Assess students and make academic decisions
Resolve issues and support students
Assure and enhance quality
Understand policy and governance
These areas are connected. Information collected in one part of the lifecycle supports others - for example, curriculum data informs module selection, timetabling, assessment, student records and quality processes. This supports a more integrated and efficient approach to delivering education.

About Education Operations

Education Operations brings together services that support the delivery, quality and governance of education at Warwick. These services cover the full academic lifecycle—from designing and approving courses and modules, through teaching and assessment, to student records, casework, progression, award and academic governance.

The directorate has been created to connect services that were previously spread across different teams. This makes it easier for staff to navigate processes, reduces duplication, and supports more consistent ways of working across the University.

We are moving towards a more integrated, data-led approach. This means improving how information flows between curriculum management, timetabling, assessment, student records and quality processes—so that data is captured once and used across the lifecycle.

We are also simplifying academic regulations, policies and processes. Clearer rules and guidance will help reduce the need for interpretation and support more consistent practice across departments.

Over time, this will allow more routine processes to be automated, freeing up staff to focus on judgement, advice and improvement. It will also support a more consistent experience for students, with clearer processes and more reliable information at each stage of their academic journey.
