4.2 Student Fees (applicable in the academic year 2012-2013)
Annual fees cover charges for registration, tuition and examination (but not re-examination) and, in the case of categories 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 below, include a contribution towards the cost of student amenities. They do not include fees for accommodation, meals and certain other miscellaneous items. On degrees including a mandatory year in industry a reduced fee is payable. All fees are due in full at the start of the academic year/course. Fees will normally rise for each year of your course in line with inflation as determined by the University. Fees do not stay the same as the year in which you started. Details on how to pay fees can be found on the Student Finance pages at http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/services/academicoffice/finance/. In the academic year 2012-13, the University will charge new Home (UK) and EU students tuition fees of £9,000 for all full-time undergraduate courses (with the exception of 2+2 courses).

Bench Fees
In the case of students registered full-time for certain postgraduate programmes and research degrees a bench fee may be charged, at the discretion of the admitting department.
-
Period of Study away from the University
For any period during which a full-time candidate for a higher degree is permitted to study in any place other than the University, the appropriate full-time fee will be payable, but this may be adjusted in individual cases to take account of any fees which a student is required to pay to any other institution. Half Fees are payable during periods of intercalated/mandatory study away from the University, with the exception of students on the Erasmus progamme, who pay no fees for their full year period of study abroad.
-
Visiting Students

Undergraduate tuition fees
Any students who have paid their tuition fees and subsequently withdrawn may be entitled to a refund calculated on the following basis.
- Students who withdraw within the first two weeks of the academic year will be entitled to a full refund of the sum they have paid.
- For students withdrawing after week 2 of the first term, the full policy for students withdrawing can be found at http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/services/academicoffice/finance/whatyouneedtopay/tuition/ugwithdrawalpolicy/
- If a sponsor has paid fees on behalf of a student who subsequently withdraws, and a refund is due, this refund will be paid to the sponsor.
-
Postgraduate tuition fees
Fees for postgraduates registered for research degrees or taught courses with a specified period of study will be calculated on the basis of the number of months of registration during an academic year. For this purpose part of a calendar month will be counted as a full calendar month, so for example a postgraduate student withdrawing within one calendar month of registration would be charged one-twelfth of the annual fee.
There are two exceptions to the above:
- Where fees are charged annually but a course is fully modular (e.g. PGME), fees will be charged for the number of modules a student has attended in the academic year prior to withdrawal. Students will be charged for each module they have started prior to withdrawal.
- Where fees are charged on a modular basis, students will be charged for the number of modules attended in the academic year prior to withdrawal. Students will be charged for a complete module for each module they have started prior to their withdrawal.
- Part-time MBA students within Warwick Business School will be charged a fee proportionate to the number of modules included within the year of study in which they withdraw. Students will be charged for all modules started within the year.
-
