Recent Changes to the University Calendar
Revisions to Ordinance 13
At its meeting held on 20 May 2015, the University Council resolved that proposed amendments to University Ordinance 13 on Degrees and Diplomas be approved for the first time.
Rationale: To include the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) as a new award of the University.
Revisions to Regulations 4, 8 and 11
At its meeting held on 11 – 12 February 2015, the University Council resolved that proposed amendments to University Regulation 4 Annual Review by the Academic Staff Committee be confirmed.
Rationale: To reflect changes to the teaching criteria approved by Senate on 3 July 2014.
At its meeting held on 11 – 12 February 2015, the University Council resolved that proposed amendments to University Regulation 8.10 Regulations for the Degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) and for the Bachelor of Medical Sciences (BMedSci) be confirmed.
Rationale: To reflect a removal of November re-sits for finalists, and to bring appeals guidance in line with other Faculties.
At its meeting held on 11 – 12 February 2015, the University Council resolved that proposed amendments to University Regulation 8.13 Regulations for the Part-time Degree of BEng in Applied Engineering be confirmed.
Rationale: To allow for second year resits for the part-time Beng in Applied Engineering to take place in the September of the same year in which a student has not passed his/her module(s), rather than the following summer.
At its meeting held on 11 – 12 February 2015, the University Council resolved that proposed amendments to University Regulation 11 Procedure to be adopted in the Event of Suspected cheating in a University Test be confirmed.
Rationale: To reflect an explicit link between Regulation 11 and the 'Senate Examination and Degree Conventions'.
Revisions to Ordinances 4 and 7
At its meeting held on 11 – 12 February 2015, the University Council resolved that proposed amendments to University Ordinance 4 on the Appointment of Lay Members of the Council be approved for the second time.
Rationale: To reflect changes in the membership and Terms of Reference of the Nominations Committee.
At its meeting held on 11 – 12 February 2015, the University Council resolved that proposed amendments to University Ordinance 7 on the Constitution of Boards of the Faculties be approved for the second time.
Rationale: To reflect the disestablishment of the Centre for Education and Industry; the establishment of the Centre for Education Studies and the Centre for Professional Education; additional constitutional amendments bought forward by the Faculty of Science and the separation of the roles of the Chairs of the Boards of the Faculty of Medicine and the Dean of the Warwick Medical School
Revisions to Ordinance 7
At its meeting held on 21 November 2014, the University Council resolved that the proposed amendments to University Ordinance 7 on the Constitution of the Boards of the Faculties be approved for the first time.
Revisions to Regulation 9
At its meeting held on 9 October 2014, the University Council resolved that the proposed amendments to University Regulation 9 Governing the Constitution of Boards of Examiners be confirmed.
