First Aider responsibilities:

First aiders are responsible for responding to any accident (regardless of where they are located), they are also responsible for acting in accordance with the training they have been given.

If you provide any first aid in relation to an incident please use the University’s ‘Assure’ reporting system to complete an incident report form. Further information regarding how to do this can be found on the University’s Health and safety services webpage.

If you attend a first aid incident and feel that intervention from the Emergency Services is required Call Community Safety (024 765 22222, or 22222 on an internal phone) to request an ambulance, stating the exact location. They will call the ambulance service and escort it to the appropriate rendezvous point.

To support you in your role please refer to the Health and Safety Services webpages for information regarding; the first aid policy, Automated External Defibrillators, sharps injury guidance and first aid box content requirements.

A QR code first aid poster which contains details of all qualified first aiders is maintained and is required to be on display per building so please inform HealthSafetyTraining@warwick.ac.uk if you change building/ department or will be leaving the University, so the list can be updated accordingly.
