Brief descriptor Candidates will be given general awareness based upon common ‘food allergens’ and the need to ensure that food is safe for those people who have allergic reactions to certain foods, this includes:
  • Associated legislation
  • Allergy and intolerance
  • Common food allergens
  • Menu and recipe design
  • Handling, preparation and service of food
  • Dealing with customers
  • Control measures needed to secure
Who is it for? All food handlers, service staff and ‘key’ personnel involved in the provision of food to; customers and staff alike within the Commercial Group.
What will the participant get out of this? Employees will be made aware of their legal duties, will gain a better understanding of how to identify and manage the risk of food allergens.
