Brief descriptor	An introduction to food safety & food hygiene matters including: Introduction to food poisoning bacteria & sources of food poisoning bacteria Storage, preparation and cooking of food Cleaning & disinfection Effective hand washing Exclusion of food handlers showing symptoms of vomiting and/or diarrhoea & other infectious illness
Who is it for?	Carers looking after students with high-dependency disabilities who are involved in the handling, preparation, cooking and/or service of unwrapped/“high-risk” food.
