Course Overview - Food Safety Refresher Training

Title of Course Food Safety Refresher Training for Food handlers
Length 2 hours
Brief descriptor Refresher training on food safety and food hygiene matters based around the following topic areas:
  • Food poisoning and its effects, statistics, control measures
  • Shelf life of foods and storage
  • Contamination of food and surfaces
  • Personal hygiene
  • Pest control
  • Cleaning and disinfection
  • Food safety management system
Who is it for? Food handlers that are involved in all aspects of handling, preparation, cooking and/or service of food. Candidates would normally attend this session three years after gaining the Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering certificate.
What will the participant get out of this? Food handlers will be brought up to date with changes in legislation and “best-practice” thus ensuring competency and compliance in food safety & food hygiene procedures and requirements of associated legislation.
Participant preparation needed? Multiple-choice assessment (12 questions) at the end of the session
