How to connect to the eduroam Wi-Fi network on ChromeOS

Introduction

eduroam, short for “education roaming,” is a secure, global Wi-Fi access service designed for the international research and education community. It enables students, researchers, and staff to obtain internet connectivity across campus and at other participating institutions worldwide, simply by using their home institution’s login credentials.

How to connect to eduroam on ChromeOS

Before proceeding with the manual setup guide on this page, you may wish to try the automated tool available at https://cat.eduroam.org/

Manual Setup

  • Left-click on the System Tray to open the menu, then click on the Settings cog.

  • In the Settings window, click Wi-Fi.

  • In Wi-Fi Settings window select the eduroam wireless network.

  • In the Join Wi-Fi network window specify the following configuration settings.

Configuration:

  • Finally, enter your University of Warwick usercode (in the format usercode@warwick.ac.uk) and password and click Connect.

After a short pause, you will be connected. You can click on the network name for additional information.
