IT Drop-in

The IT Drop-in service provides support to all customers who wish to speak to someone face-to-face. It is based within the 1st floor of the central campus Library and provides a more personalised, hands on support function, where longer fix periods are required.

It also provides a variety of loan services such as staff and student laptop loan, AV equipment loan and iPad loan services.

Primary responsibilities are set out below, divided by the type of activity.

Delivering face-to-face support

  • Providing support to customers who prefer to speak to a team member in person or where it is necessary they visit due to the complexity of their request.
  • Providing more in-depth IT support such as the use of specific features of applications, troubleshooting wireless connection issues and managing loan service requests.

Information and communication

  • Providing information to customers relating to their call on request.
  • Updating call records as information becomes available.
