Release notes for web applications

Tabula 2023.7.1 released

Tabula version 2023.7.1 was released on Friday 21st July 2023. Changes in this update include:

  • The button to proceed on the Record outcomes screen is now labelled Next instead of Save, to reflect the fact that data is not saved at this stage of the process.
  • Department Administrators can now set minimum and maximum page counts for assignment submissions. Note that this functions similarly to word count limits, and is self-reported by students when submitting.
  • The coursework Submissions and feedback table now includes a Published column to indicate when feedback was published without requiring users to visit submission summary pages individually.
  • Tabula now displays an error when leaving a page with an incomplete meeting form. This should help prevent loss of data if a form has not yet been submitted.
  • Students are automatically assigned a status of Unrecorded for a monitoring point if an associated seminar is marked as Missed (authorised). This is to enable departments to perform any necessary verification.
  • An explanatory message is now displayed for students whose course outcome is blank on their marks release date.

SiteBuilder 2.549 released

We released SiteBuilder version 2.549 on Friday 21st July 2023. Changes in this version include:

  • Block layouts: Settings to remove gutters and set edges flush with the page now correctly apply only to the blocks immediately within the block layout instead of all nested blocks.
  • Item filter pages have received several improvements:
    • Tags now appear in alphabetical order on the Edit page properties screen.
    • Manage sections: We've added a link to this from the Editing tags page.
    • On the Manage entries page, we've changed the Back to page link to a button to improve visibility.
    • Buttons for reordering Tag sections are now correctly greyed out when they aren't applicable - for example, the "Move up" button for the entry at the top of the list.
    • [email], [slideshow] and [audio] magic tags are now supported in data entries.
  • Event feed and News feed components can be set to display only headlines while in the Tile and Tile - scrollable views.
  • The Audio/video component can now be set to auto-play and loop videos. Note that these options only apply for visitors who have not selected reduced motion in their system settings.

Note: Unexpected issues with SiteBuilder version 2.548 caused us to roll it back. We've included the changes originally released in that version in this new version.

Tabula 2023.6.3 released

We released Tabula 2023.6.3 on Wednesday 28th June 2023. In this version, we:

  • Fixed a bug that caused the tooltip for Component Weighted Degree Classification Average to be cut off on Exam grids.
  • Improved the behaviour of Missing mark adjustment when students have modules with a grade of FM.
  • Reduced the number of characters users are required to enter when adding a location before Tabula will suggest results.

These notes also include changes made in a hotfix released on Monday 19th June 2023.

SiteBuilder 2.547 released

SiteBuilder version 2.547 was released on Thursday 29th June 2023. With this update:

  • Resource bookings pages: It's now possible to create retrospective bookings and edit past bookings. Note that this option can be disenabled in the resource settings.
  • In the Components Editor:
    • Map links now correctly display inline in the editor. Note that inline map links were displayed correctly when the page was published - this issue only affected how they appeared in the editor.
    • Changing the selected image in an Image component now also clears any existing alternative text description. This helps ensure that alt text is accurate to the image being used.
    • News feed and Event feed components can now be displayed as Tiles - scrollable. This option allows a feed to function like a Horizontal scroller component.
    • The Buttons component now supports custom CSS classes. For more information about how to add custom styles to your page, see our HTML and CSS guidance.
